How to Choose a Personal Trainer

Posted on Saturday Sep 5 0:00:00 BST 2009
It could be one of the most difficult decisions you make, but it may also be the wisest and most rewarding. Employing a Personal Trainer can change your life. But with so many out there how do you go about choosing a Personal Trainer.
The following list outlines the things you should consider before employing a Personal Trainer:
  1. Check they are ont he Register of Exercise Professionals
  2. Make sure they are qualified and insured
  3. Decide whether home visits or going to the gym/studio is better for you
  4. Meet with a few trainers in your area to se if you like them
  5. Check their testimonials - ask to speak with past clients
  6. Compare what services are offered and what a typical session includes
  7. Think about a trial period of a few sessions
  8. Axk what equipment they should have
  9. Do they do a fitness test?
  10. Do they offer nutrition sessions?
We think the most important factor once you have established that a trainer has the right credentials is to find a personal trainer that you get on well with. This will be a personal relationship and you need to get on. It may be a very rewarding and long lasting friendship!
Don't take too long deciding though, you have momentum and this is vital.

Good luck.
